Tesla Model Y Specifications: Full Specs, Range, Price and Key Features

The Tesla Model Y is Tesla's fully electric midsize SUV and the best-selling electric vehicle in the world. Its comprehensive "Juniper" refresh was revealed in January 2025, with the first United States deliveries following in March 2025. The update brings full-width light bars, a quieter and better-equipped cabin, and up to 357 miles of range on a single charge. Here are the full specifications, key features, and price.

Key Highlights of Tesla Model Y

  1. Up to 357 Miles of Range The Premium Rear-Wheel Drive version carries the longest EPA rating in the lineup at 357 miles. Even the dual-motor Premium All-Wheel Drive is rated at 327 miles.
  2. New Juniper Design Full-width light bars at the front and rear give the refreshed Model Y a completely new face. A drag coefficient of just 0.22 makes it one of the slipperiest SUVs on sale.
  3. Quieter, More Comfortable Cabin Acoustic glass and improved seals cut road and wind noise throughout the cabin. Premium trims add ventilated front seats and customizable ambient lighting.
  4. 250 kW Supercharging Peak charging of 250 kW can add up to 182 miles of range in about 15 minutes. Drivers also get access to Tesla's Supercharger network of more than 60,000 stalls across North America.
  5. Screens for Both Rows A 15.4-inch center touchscreen runs almost every function of the car. Premium trims add an 8-inch touchscreen for rear passengers.
  6. 5-Star Safety and Standard Autopilot The Model Y holds a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer are standard on every version.

Design and Exterior

The Juniper refresh keeps the familiar coupe-like silhouette but reworks the front and rear ends completely. A single light bar now stretches across the nose, replacing the separate headlights of the old car. The front bumper also gains a camera with its own washer, a first for the Model Y.

At the back, a full-width light bar reflects its glow off a panel below it for a soft, indirect effect. The tailgate carries simple Tesla lettering instead of the old T badge. The body is 1.6 inches longer than before, yet the aerodynamic improvements cut the drag coefficient from 0.23 to 0.22.

The Juniper refresh proves the Model Y did not need a revolution, just careful refinement of the details owners asked for.

Interior and Technology

The cabin follows Tesla's minimalist formula, with almost every control living inside the center touchscreen.

The 15.4-inch display handles driving information, navigation, media, and climate settings. Rear passengers on Premium trims get their own 8-inch touchscreen for climate and entertainment.

Ventilated front seats are now available on Premium trims, joining the heated seats fitted across the range. A wraparound ambient light strip runs across the dashboard and doors. Tesla kept a physical turn-signal stalk on the steering column, answering a common complaint about the Model 3. Cargo space measures 30.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 72.1 cubic feet with them folded.

A front trunk adds extra storage where an engine would normally sit.

Performance and Range

The lineup starts with the Standard Rear-Wheel Drive, which is rated at 321 miles of EPA range. It reaches 60 mph in 6.8 seconds.

The Standard All-Wheel Drive adds a front motor, cuts the sprint to 4.6 seconds, and is rated at 294 miles. The Premium Rear-Wheel Drive is the range champion at 357 miles, with a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.4 seconds. The Premium All-Wheel Drive pairs 327 miles of range with a 4.3-second sprint.

The Performance tops the lineup with 306 miles of range and a 3.3-second 0 to 60 mph time. Top speed is 125 mph for most versions, while the Performance reaches 155 mph. A retuned suspension with frequency-selective dampers on Premium trims noticeably softens the ride compared with the old car.

EPA figures come from laboratory tests, so treat them as a comparison tool rather than a guarantee. In Edmunds' real-world range test, the dual-motor Model Y matched its 327-mile EPA rating exactly, and the Standard version beat its rating with 337 miles. Steady 70 mph highway driving typically lands roughly 10 percent below the EPA figure.

Cold weather near freezing can cut range by roughly 20 to 30 percent, with AAA recording losses near 40 percent in extreme cold. Preconditioning while still plugged in helps, since the energy comes from the wall.

Charging

Every Model Y can charge at up to 250 kW on a Tesla Supercharger. Depending on the version, a 15-minute stop adds between 144 and 182 miles of range. That speed makes long road trips practical with short, coffee-length breaks.

At home, onboard AC charging of up to 11.5 kW can add roughly 44 miles of range per hour on a suitable wall connector. The charge port uses the NACS connector, which is now the standard plug for most new EVs in North America.

Safety and Autopilot

The Model Y earned a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. Automatic emergency braking and lane departure avoidance are standard on every version. Basic Autopilot is also standard, bringing Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer for highway driving.

Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available as an optional upgrade for drivers who want the car to handle more of the journey. The system still requires an attentive driver who is ready to take over at any moment.
