Audi Q6 e-tron is Audi's first production model built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, developed together with Porsche for next-generation electric vehicles.

Audi revealed the full production car on March 18, 2024, after previewing its interior at the Munich motor show in September 2023.

Production began in Ingolstadt, Germany, in November 2023, and customer deliveries started in the third quarter of 2024.

The Q6 e-tron sits between the smaller Q4 e-tron and the larger Q8 e-tron in Audi's electric SUV lineup.

It competes directly with the BMW iX, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, and its platform sibling, the Porsche Macan Electric.

Its headline upgrades are an 800-volt system and DC fast charging at up to 270 kW.

The quattro version also offers up to 625 km of WLTP driving range on a single charge. Here are the full specifications, key features, and price.

Key Highlights of Audi Q6 e-tron

  1. First Audi on the PPE platform: The Q6 e-tron is the first Audi built on the Premium Platform Electric architecture, co-developed with Porsche for dedicated electric vehicles.

  2. 270 kW ultra-fast charging: The 800-volt system charges the quattro battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes at a suitable DC fast charger.

  3. Up to 625 km of WLTP range: The quattro version travels up to 625 km on the WLTP cycle, while the 2027 US model is EPA-rated at 325 miles.

  4. 456 hp with launch control: The dual-motor quattro produces 382 hp normally and up to 456 hp with launch control, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

  5. Digital Stage curved displays: A curved OLED panel combines an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit with a 14.5-inch touchscreen, plus an optional 10.9-inch passenger display.

  6. Roomy and practical for families: The boot holds 526 litres behind the rear seats and expands to 1,529 litres with them folded, plus a 64-litre front trunk.

Design and Display

The Q6 e-tron uses classic Audi Q proportions with a closed Singleframe grille, a split headlight design, and muscular haunches over the wheels.

A drag coefficient of 0.28 helps efficiency on long highway trips, especially at steady cruising speeds.

Audi's second-generation digital OLED rear lights can show different light signatures, and they can project warning symbols to drivers behind the car.

The front matrix LED daytime running lights offer up to eight selectable digital light signatures.

The standard SUV measures 4,771 mm long, 1,939 mm wide, and 1,648 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,899 mm.

A coupe-style Sportback version arrived in October 2024 with a lower roofline and a drag coefficient of 0.26.

The Q6 e-tron is Audi's technological leap into its next electric era.

Performance and Powertrain

The quattro version uses two electric motors, one on each axle, for all-wheel drive with a rear-biased feel.

It produces 285 kW, or 382 hp, in normal driving and up to 456 hp when launch control is activated.

The quattro sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the US 0 to 60 mph figure is 4.9 seconds.

Top speed is limited to 210 km/h, which is more than enough for highway driving in any market.

The performance flagship is the SQ6 e-tron, with 483 hp normally and up to 509 hp in launch mode.

It reaches 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and tops out at a higher 230 km/h.

A rear-wheel-drive base model uses a smaller 83 kWh battery and produces 248 hp, rising to 282 hp with launch control.

It reaches 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, which still feels brisk for a family SUV.

Every version uses a single-speed automatic transmission, and the quattro system can vary torque between the axles in milliseconds.

The low-mounted battery also gives the SUV a low centre of gravity for stable handling.

Battery, Range and Charging

The quattro and Performance versions use a 100 kWh battery pack with 94.9 kWh of usable capacity.

That energy delivers up to 625 km of WLTP range in the quattro and up to 641 km in the Performance version.

The base model uses an 83 kWh battery with 75.8 kWh usable, giving up to 533 km of WLTP range.

In the United States, the 2027 quattro is EPA-rated at up to 325 miles depending on wheel size.

The 800-volt architecture allows DC fast charging at up to 270 kW on the quattro, adding 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes.

At home, an 11 kW AC wallbox can fully recharge the battery overnight, which suits most daily driving routines.

Charging ports sit on both sides of the car, with AC and DC on one side and AC only on the other.

If a station only supports 400-volt technology, the battery can split into two halves and charge in parallel.

Real-world range depends on speed, weather, and driving style, so highway trips in cold weather will return less than the official figure.

Independent testing of the 2027 model even beat its EPA estimate, covering 337 miles in one Edmunds test.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the Digital Stage dominates with a curved OLED panel that joins the 11.9-inch virtual cockpit to a 14.5-inch touchscreen.

The curved shape echoes Audi's Singleframe grille and angles the displays toward the driver for easy reach.

An optional 10.9-inch passenger display lets the front passenger stream video or help with navigation without distracting the driver.

Its Active Privacy Mode keeps the screen invisible from the driver's seat while the car is moving.

The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive software with an app store, and the Audi assistant understands natural voice commands.

An optional augmented reality head-up display projects navigation arrows that appear to float on the road ahead.

An optional Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system with 20 speakers and 830 watts fills the cabin, including speakers in the front headrests.

Five seats come standard, with a 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench for flexible cargo and passenger combinations.

Practicality and Safety

The boot holds 526 litres with all seats in place and grows to 1,529 litres when the rear seats are folded.

A 64-litre front trunk under the hood is ideal for charging cables and small bags.

Towing capacity reaches up to 2,400 kg in some markets, or 4,400 pounds in the United States, so small trailers and bike racks are no problem.

The flat floor and long wheelbase also give rear passengers generous legroom on long trips.

Euro NCAP awarded the Q6 e-tron five stars in 2024, with 91 percent for adult occupants and 92 percent for child occupants.

A wide range of driver assistance systems is available, including adaptive cruise control on higher trims.

Charging and Ownership Tips

For daily use, charge to around 80 percent and save full charges for long trips, which helps preserve long-term battery health.

Precondition the battery while plugged in before a fast-charging stop for the quickest possible session.

Audi covers the battery for eight years or 100,000 miles in the United States, which matches the industry standard for premium electric vehicles.

Check your local dealer for exact warranty terms, since coverage and conditions vary by market.
